GIEMSA FOR Helicobacter pylori

METHOD

1. Sections to water.

2. Dilute Giemsa 1:20 with distilled water and add 2 drops of concentrated acetic acid. stain for 30 minutes

3. Wash in water.

4. Dehydrate, clear . Mount sections in DPX

RESULTS

--Helocobacter blue/grey

--Background pink/pale blue

--Nuclei blue

--Essential

--Known Helocobacter in gastric biopsy
