In Vivo Models of Inflammation: Introduction to Part 2

This section is dedicated to in vivo models of inflammation, a necessary procedure for the discovery of appropriate usage of new therapeutic agents despite its problems (see essay later in this book by Professor David Blake). It is surprising that despite the increasing numbers of new antiinflammatory agents, of which none are perfect, there are certain models that are being used today under similar conditions to those described some decades ago. Such a model system is the acute inflammation in the mouse ear, which has recently been extensively reviewed by Professor Mikl�s G�bor, who has also contributed to this section of the book.
